Auburn University's interdisciplinary initiative that fosters global research, teaching, and outreach.
Who We Are
The Global Development Solutions (GDS) Lab is an interdisciplinary initiative at Auburn University that examines the evolving role of civil society in fostering democratic participation and advancing sustainable development—particularly in African contexts. Our work is grounded in the belief that civil society organizations (CSOs) are essential to building inclusive, responsive, and resilient societies.

Our Commitment to the
United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals
GDS works in support of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development by field testing translational research, strengthening transdisciplinary learning and educational interactions, and institutionalizing university-community partnerships.

At the GDS Lab, we have identified an SDG that resonates deeply with our mission. We work in support of SDG 16, to "Promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all and build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels."
